Colin has practised criminal law for over twenty years, having initially qualified in 1989 and was the first solicitor in the local jurisdiction to be granted rights of Audience in the Supreme Courts in 2002. Together with Ross Brown , we remain the only firm in the local Sheriff Court jurisdiction to have been granted extended rights of audience, and as such are uniquely able to offer a one stop service in all criminal courts. Colin is also a member of the Society of Solicitor Advocates and was awarded a Certificate in Advanced Advocacy from the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. Colin has appeared in all levels of Court throughout Scotland.
Colin is a Tutor at the University of Strathclyde, and has held a number of positions with the Law Society of Scotland including their Professional Practice, Technology and Client Care Committees.
Colin has also been appointed as a Peer Reviewer. Colin has a very varied workload and has extensive experience of appearing in all courts and will be happy to discuss any criminal or road traffic matters, including an initial diagnostic interview.
